Class 3-1 Update
Spring has been incredibly busy in our classroom. We raised caterpillars that turned into beautiful butterflies. Then the class named them and released them in the garden near the rectory. The students really enjoyed seeing them fly freely. A few landed on the students for a quick visit before finding their own way in the world. This thrilled the students and brought smiles to everyones faces. Spring is here at last. Math has offered new challenges this month. Double digit multiplying, learning customary units of measurement, time review, and moving into metrics is forthcoming over the next few weeks. Please practice multiplication facts with your child each night; this will make the upcoming lessons more successful. The students completed poster sized book reports on the chapter book we read as a class, Because of Winn Dixie. The reports were well written and clearly showed that the children understood the concepts of setting, characters, plot development and resolution. We finished our solar system and weather units in science The children loved learning about space, stars, planets, asteroids. School is flying by. Our field day is coming this week. It should bring a lot of fun and excitement along with great burgers. Hope to see you there.
